Motorola High Speed Wireless FAQs
Based on state-of-the-art Motorola Canopy equipment,
PrineTIME Internet Solutions brings you a fast, reliable connection.
How does the Motorola Canopy Wireless System
work?
Where are the tower sites?
PrineTIME Internet Solutions currently has towers on Grizzly Mountain,
Powell Butte and at the PrineTIME office located in downtown Prineville.
What is the range of the Motorola Canopy Wireless
System?
From the tower sites there is an average range of 10-15 miles. This
allows us to serve Prineville and its outlying areas.
What will interfere with the signal?
Anything in the path between you and the tower site can block the
signal, especially trees and buildings. If you have a clear, visual
line of sight it will almost certainly work.
Is the Motorola Canopy Wireless System the same
as Satellite Internet?
No, not at all. Our wireless service is faster and more responsive
than satellite. Many satellite services operate at speeds comparable
to dial up connections. With Satellite Internet the signal has to
travel more then 40,000 miles resulting in long delays. With Motorola
Canopy Wireless the signal only travels 15 miles which means a quick
response time.
Can I install the Motorola Canopy Wireless System
myself?
A technician from PrineTIME Internet Solutions will install and align
the subscriber module, reflector (if needed) and any other required
mounting hardware to ensure an accurate and stable connection.
How long will it take to get service?
Generally, installs are scheduled within a week of your service request.
This can vary due to high demand. Once we determine you are in our
coverage area a technician will contact you to make an appointment.
Installs are usually completed in 2 hours. It is necessary for you
to be home during the install so we can access the home computer.
What can I do if I lose my Wireless Connection?
From time to time it may be necessary to Power Cycle your system.
This lost connection could be the result of a power fluctuation, Virus
activity, the home router, or a number of other things.
To Power Cycle the system:
Turn off the power to the whole system. This includes your Motorola
Canopy Wireless power supply, the router if you have one, and the
computer.
Power up your equipment in the following order: Start with the Canopy
power supply, then the home router, and then the computer.
